Coach Curt Pickering
Coach Pickering has been involved in basketball for over 29 years. He has served as a Head Coach, General Manager, Scout, Player Personnel Director and Owner. He played collegiality at Spring Arbor University (where he also earned a Masters Degree in Sports Psychology); and John Brown University, Arkansas.
In 1997 Coach Pickering founded the Montecito Basketball Academy, mentoring over 9,000 youths in the Santa Barbara community. The Academy teaches the fundamentals of the game during the week and provides tournaments and in-house games on the weekends. He also has coached in Austria, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Canada and Venezuela and he conducted clinics in Costa Rica, Guatemala, the Philippines, Bahrain and Hungary. He notched his 300th career coaching victory on May 31, 2008 when the Breakers beat the Ventura Jets 113-108 at Santa Barbara City Sports Pavillion.
